Up to 20x Higher Filtration Performance Than Standard Filter
Although the lubricating gaps in the engine are approximately 1.5 to 10 µm in size, the filtration performance of standard oil filters is only up to approx. 10 µm. International studies have shown that abrasion in the case of particles of lubricating gap size is around 3½ times greater than for particles larger than 10 µm. Standard filtering is not therefore sufficient. After an oil change some of the contaminated oil remains in the engine and the number of dirt and abrasionparticles continually increases during operation. The engine runs continuously in dirty oil and solid particles cause further abrasion. Standard filters are also unable to filter out water, which may result in the formation of acid etc. The filtration performance of the micfil ultra-fine filter is approx. 20 times higher than standard filters. Abrasion-causing dirt, combustion, oxidation and abrasion particles of up to 0.5 µm in size are continually filtered out of the oil. The smaller particles remaining in the oil do not cause any day age, but instead increase the load-bearing capacity (lubricity) and thermal resistance of the oil. The Micfil high-performance filter insert, which consists mainly of cellulose, binds water and therefore counteracts acid formation and protects the alkaline reserve in the oil.

The load-bearing capacity (lubricity) and thermal resistance of the Micfil ultra-fine filtered and unchanged oil are markedly increased in comparison to fresh oil by enriching with hydrocarbon and other solids of a size that does not cause abrasion. The particles of less than approx. 1 µm remaining in the oil during Micfil ultra-fine filtering do not cause any damage, but instead improve the load-bearing capacity and thermal resistance of the oil. These properties continue to improve the longer the oil is used.
Coating the Engine Components with Hydrocarbon
The unchanged and Micfil ultra-fine filtered oil provides the engine with a surface coating of hydrocarbon produced by combustion. The engine parts, including their rough points, are coated with a wafer-thin hydrocarbon layer. This prevents direct contact between different metal surfaces, thereby greatly reducing wear and tear.
Lower Oil Consumption
In addition to lubricating and cooling, one of the main functions of oil is the fine sealing of parts that slide against one another, such as piston rings against the cylinder wall. As a result of the Micfil ultra-fine filtering of the oil, solid particles which might impair the fine sealing properties of the oil are continuously filtered out. This means that less oil can enter the combustion chamber, so that oil consumption is reduced.
Elimination of the Conventional Oil Change
Oil does not age, but undergoes changes during its use in engines that are caused by particles of dirt and abrasion, combustion residues (soot), oxidation products and water. The ultra-fine filter absorbs water and continuously filters out solid particles that cause abrasion. This prevents the formation of acids and the solid particles of less than approx. 1 µm that remain in the oil improve the lubrication properties and thermal stability of the oil. This optimization
becomes all the clearer the longer the oil is used. An oil change is therefore not necessary in the case of engines that are in perfect technical condition. REICHERT frictional wear tests are able to show the improvement in the lubricating properties of the oil in comparison to the respective fresh oil. It is therefore recommended to monitor the technical condition of the engines at regular intervals by means of comparative oil analyses.
micfil Ultra-fine Filters for Hydraulic and Gear Oil
micfil Ultra-fine Filters Ensure Continuous Care of the Hydraulic and Gear Oil.
The care of hydraulic and gear oil is frequently neglected, even though regular care of the oil is one of the decisive factors in trouble-free operations. The hydraulic components of modern hydraulic systems move on an oil film of less than 10 µm. This thin oil film guarantees smooth functioning of the equipment, but requires that the oil is absolutely clean. In practice many fluids contained in hydraulic systems display a high level of contamination, which is not always visible. The smallest items visible to the human eye are approx. 40 µm in size. The Micfil ultra-fine filter used in the bypass flow with a filtration performance of up to 0.5 µm ensures permanent cleaning of the oil and the absorption of water. It reduces the wear on the components and the risk of malfunctions.
micfil Ultra-fine Filters Can Be Used For All Engines
